Workshops for Writers - February 1: Revising Toward Exactness
Join the St. Louis Writers Guild from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. CST on Saturday, February 1, 2025, for a free workshop with editor and writing coach Kim Lozano on manuscript revision.
Our presenter, Kim Lozano, will join us LIVE, in person for this FREE workshop. We will gather at The Lodge Des Peres, 1050 Des Peres Rd., St. Louis, MO, 63131 for the presentation, or you may attend the meeting online. To do so, follow the event link from the St. Louis Writers Guild website.
We all hope readers will think our books and stories are “well-written,” but how do we go about making sure they are? One of the ways we develop our preferences and tastes (a feel for good writing) is to make small changes to our manuscript—many of them, over and over again. Through careful attention to the way in which we’ve conveyed our ideas, we begin to see what belongs and what doesn’t. What’s boring or inferior and what might be better. In this workshop we’ll discuss how the writing in our books and even shorter works can go from blurry to sharp and what common problems to look for.
