Workshops for Writers - August 5: Nuts and Bolts: The Mechanics of Telling a Great Story (for Plotters and Pantsers)

Join the St. Louis Writers Guild from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023, for a free workshop with author Gregory Ashe on utilizing your natural writing style, “plotter” or “pantsers,” to tell a great story.
Our presenter, Gregory Ashe, will join us in person at The Lodge Des Peres, 1050 Des Peres Rd., St. Louis, MO, 63131. The event will also livestream via Zoom. To attend the meeting online, follow the event link from the St. Louis Writers Guild website.

Writers often divide themselves into two camps: Plotters, those who create a roadmap before beginning the story, and pantsers, those who “fly by the seat of their pants.” How do the mechanics of storytelling differ between these two approaches? How are they the same? And what can these writers learn from each other? Bring your questions to this lively discussion of how to create compelling fiction while honoring your own creative style.
